GRH 128 Jesus Loves the Little Children

(1)
Jesus was a little babe
In a lowly manger born
For the inn with others filled had no more room.
And no welcome He received
When He came unto his own.
I will open my heart’s door to welcome Him.
Praise the holy name of Jesus! With one voice let children sing.
What He tells me I will do, Listen to His Word so true.
Friends of Jesus in His love their praises bring.

(2)
Jesus was a little child,
Knows how other children feel;
So is happy now to listen to each prayer.
On the cross He bled and died,
For us all was crucified,
Washing clean the sins of children ev’rywhere.
Praise the holy name of Jesus! With one voice let children sing.
What He tells me I will do, Listen to His Word so true.
Friends of Jesus in His love their praises bring.

(3)
Jesus was a pupil small,
Read the Bible ev’ry day.
I will follow the example of the Lord;
Hide His Word within my heart;
Step by step I’ll walk His way
On the road to heav’n with Jesus Christ my Lord.
Praise the holy name of Jesus! With one voice let children sing.
What He tells me I will do, Listen to His Word so true.
Friends of Jesus in His love their praises bring.
