AN ANNOUNCEMENT WITH A YEAR-END MESSAGE OF THANKSGIVING

Dear Members in Christ,

An announcement with a year-end message of thanksgiving

As we approach the end of 2024, we are very grateful for God’s care and watch over each one of us, our families and our loved ones. Our hearts are also filled with thanksgiving for God’s gracious hand upon the Calvary Jaya BP Fellowship (CJBPF). We have been blessed as a church with God’s provision for all our needs to carry out the work and ministry of declaring God’s Word. We acknowledge that the Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the church (Ephesians 5:23), which the Bible also describes as “…the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15)

The Lord Jesus Christ is our Chief Shepherd, and we thank God for watching over His flock in Calvary Jaya for the past forty years, and for providing leadership for the flock through the Board of Elders. We thank God also for the provision of an Advisory Pastor to minister to us in the years past. Please continue to pray for God’s wisdom upon the Elders to guide the church, and pray also that Calvary Jaya BP Fellowship may always stand firmly as “the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” May God strengthen His people in zealous service, and in obedience to His Word.

Announcement from the Board of Elders (BOE)

We thank God for the wise counsel and guidance of the Rev (Dr) Quek Suan Yew who serves as the Advisory Pastor since 19th June 2020. His contribution especially during the post-pandemic years has been invaluable. 

With the Rev. Lim Seh Beng currently the Pastor, the BOE has decided, on 13^th December 2024, that effective from 1^st Jan 2025, the BOE will oversee the spiritual affairs of the Church. There is therefore no necessity for the service of an Advisory Pastor.

The BOE has communicated the same to the Rev (Dr) Quek Suan Yew on 14^th Dec 2024, and he had gladly welcomed this decision.

Attached below is the Rev (Dr) Quek Suan Yew’s immediate response, on 14^th December 2024 via return email.

“Greetings in our Lord's blessed Name.

Thank God for CJBPF's spiritual growth, especially in the leadership. Serving the Lord as an advisory pastor these blessed years is a privilege and honour. Thank you for the privilege of serving with all of you. 

May God continue to protect and watch over all of God's people in CJBPF.”
